Club Le Car: We Are Going Places

For Club Le Car’s spring kick off Le Car CEO and Founder Tamara Warren moderated a conversation with Michi Jigargjian, Managing Partner of the Rockaway Hotel and James Mirras, Co-Founder of Circuit on last-mile mobilty and how it impacts the local Rockaway community.

Circuit is preparing to launch a 36-month pilot services on the Rockway peninsula connecting people, partner businesses, and the beach through shared, affordable rides in a variety of vehicles. Warren expored Jigargjian and Mirras’s thoughts on what personal mobility means to them. Members of the community asked questions about how Circuit imagines it local impact on the Rockaways and the ins and outs of ride hailing to be expected once the service is up and running to fulfill the goal for year around transportation. “It all depends on complimenting existing transportation,” Mirras said. “At Circuit we’re all about sustainable communities.”

The Rockaway Hotel opened in 2020. Jigargjian spoke on the process of bringing new energy into the peninsula, in a way that is respectful of the history and concerns of longtime residents. “Together with local knowledge and local access, we were able to understand what the community needed by asking questions whether its culture, interests, or a good time, and diving deep on how we could create a soul in a space. What can we add and be the hub for such an amazing community?”

As the sunset burned through the lingering evening cloud cover, guests gathered on the rooftop to enjoy views of Manhattan in the distance.
