Audi RS Q8
How it looks when you see on the street: The Audi RS Q8 is sculpted, fluid SUV, accented by suggestive and powerful, red brake calipers on the wheels.
How it makes you feel when you get in: For a time, Audi brought Robert Downey, Jr to the unveiling of its sports cars in his peak Tony Stark years. There’s a Tony Stark vibe here in the performance features that are balanced with creature comforts.
How it drives: Performance that borders on naughty. A hallmark of its stupid fast twin-turbo V8 engine that will reach a speed 60 miles in 3.7 seconds, or the time it takes to say, “my name is…”
Space for people and things: The Q8 isn’t the most spacious interior on the market for people or cargo, so might be good to broaden the search if excess area is your goal. It’s enough to comfortably seat a small family though.
Best Features: There’s a host of standard features including driver-assistance features, like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. We like that 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system, too.
What makes it stand out: The Audi Q8 is a solid luxe SUV on its own accord, when you add in the RS factor, it becomes a performance tiger. What we don’t love is the paltry fuel economy that’s a sharp contrast from Audi’s electric portfolio.
What should you compare it to: Lamborghini URUS, BMW X5 M, BMW X6 M, Maserati Levante Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe and SUV
How much it costs: Base price is $113,000. We drove a model that bumped up the price to $129,340 with options.
