Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge
How it looks when you see it on the street: Menacing and bodacious, Black Badge Ghost causes double takes by virtually everyone in eyesight. We tested it at New Wave Art Week in Palm Beach, where this vehicle was in its element slinking up to the valet stand, underscored its dramatics entrance. Even the wheels have a story to tell, composed of 44 layers of carbon fiber.
How it makes you feel when you get in: Like a million bucks, which is not far off the price on some specced up bespoke models that can be ordered from the factory at Goodwood Estate HQ in the south of England. Black Badge has Matrix vibes, that runs throughout its carbon covered cabin, and is designed for the baddy set.
How it drives: It’s buttery and other worldy. A tiny tap of the gas and the decadent engine roars. It’s an over-the-top V12 engine that produces 591 horsepower. It’s like a last gasoline-infused hurrah, and earns an old world abysmal 14 mile per gallon.
Space for people and things: All the space for proper full-sized trunks in the boots. We drove around an art collector, an artist, and art critic and everyone had plenty of room.
Best Features: So many delightful doodads such as a lambswool carpet. We’re so in love with the starry night ceiling pattern. All interior roofs should be stunning.
What should you compare it to: Bentley Flying Spur, other Rolls-Royce Ghost variants.
How much does it cost: A Ghost starts at $398,850, and add on $44,000 to commission a Black Badge. But that’s a starting point — when it comes to Rolls-Royce, the starry night sky is the limit.
