Chevrolet Tahoe

How it looks when you see on the street: The Tahoe is ubiquitous with getting the job done, partly because it’s appeared in at least one more or TV show every year since it first hit the streets, including drivers like Marvel character Nick Fury. Its fifth generation was introduced in 2021.

How it makes you feel when you get in: Spacious, with seating to accommodate an entire baseball team. It’s got a roomy interior. It’s not designed for luxe comfort or style, but more fore get-it-done, get-you-there capabilities such as towing boats or serving as that XL limousine.

How it drives: It takes time to get used to driving a full-size SUV, which takes up a lot of room on the road, but the Tahoe delivers a smooth ride for its stature. Tahoe has some power behind it, and as a result of size and use of power, it’s going to consume a fair amount of fuel, about 17 miles per gallon. Go the diesel route, and things actually look pretty good at 24 miles per gallon.

Space for people and things: This is while people jump up to full-sized space over mid-sized SUVs. For most the ample space for people and cargo is the selling point, and the Tahoe has plenty of stash things along the way.

Best Features: The 360-degree camera helps the driver keep track of all that space the Tahoe takes up on the road.

What should you compare it to: Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, Nissan Armada, Jeep Wagoneer.

How much is it: There’s a huge range in price depending on how the Tahoe is specced out, starting at $48,000 and climbing up to $73,000. We drove a Tahoe decked out in Z71 trim, designed for off-roading and lots of digital rear entertainmnet add-ons.
