Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS

HOW IT LOOKS WHEN YOU SEE ON THE STREET:The Porsche Cayman is a mid-engine sports that is the definition of a freaking blast to drive. The whole 4 RS thing is what give this particular model extra, track ready bragging rights as a real contender. The original 718 harkens back to the 1959 Targa Race car. Porsche introduced the current nameplate on its production cars in 2018 and the GT4 RS was brought to market in 2021. Its a guaranteed head turner, stress reliever and is made for the days when you feel like treating yourself.

How it makes you feel when you get in: Like you probably should be driving, in the best way possible. The two-seater cockpit is body snug. Options like the heated, leather-coated steering wheel, and headrests stitch in the embossed Porsche logo are some of its accruments.

How it drives: Driving the Cayman is both a effortless and thrilling — a potent combo. Its performance is made slick and smooth with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK). Speed is monstrous and control zooming from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds Top track speed is 196 mph. What’s most noticeable is the gutsy throat-clearing engine note that is damn near symphonic. Eventually, Porsche is going to make an electrified Cayman, but not quite yet.

Space for people and things: Not a grocery hauler, by any stretch. A petite trunk comes with the car that does hold a carry-on suitcase or two. There’s no storage space in the interior.

What should you compare it to: Chevrolet Corvette, Toyota GR Supra.

How much does it cost: The base Cayman, a perfectly wonderful sports car starts at about $70,000, but all the goodness of the top-dog GT4 RS is priced at about $165,000.
