BMW X2

How it looks on the street: The X2 is wedged in the sporty subcompact sweet spot, an ideal candidate for city drivers that need a bit of extra elbow room, cargo space, and verve in their get around car. It may be intended for the “young buyer” who wants a fancy brand, but it has broader appeal. It’s easy to confuse the coupe form of X2 with the BMW X1 nameplate, which has a more square body. Our model had slightly bolder 21-inch wheels.

How it feels on the inside: The X2 interior is handsome and sleek, especially with the M35i option for sports seat. Our model was embellished with power-folding mirror, a panoramic sky room, and a parking assistant. A wifi hotspt and heated front seats are standard on the 2025 mode.

How does it drive: The gas-powered engine on our M car was a 2.0liter twin turbo that earned 26 miles per gallon, and it was a ton of fun to zip around New York city with its 312 horsepower at our disposal.

Space for people and things: We like the thoughtful storage space in the front consul. The back is best suited for shorter passenger as the X2 has slightly less headroom than the X1. Cargo space is on par with the X1.

What to compare it to: BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Range Rover Evoque.

How much does it cost: The base price for X2 starts at $43,625. The X2 the X2 M35i is $51,400. Our test model included a sport and premium package and was priced at $59,295.
