How it looks when you see on the street: It’s another new intro in the competitive small SUV category — and going in as the sensible choice that Toyota is known to produce. There are many options at this price point but the Corolla Cross carries over the name and personality of its solid Corolla sedan. It’s made distinct with its large Toyota-branded grille.

How it makes you feel when you get in: Safe, secure, and prudent. How so? It’s an unfussy layout that uses decent, but not succulent materials. It has a familiar UX design scheme to the Corolla sedan. The LE is kind of meh as a super desirable brand new car. Levle up to the LE and the XLE edition, which adds all the modern convenience options such as lumbar support, heated front seats, front dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leatherette surface. The LE and XLE both offer two USB ports, wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.

How it drives: It’s sedate but pleasant, and gasoline powered. The engine produces fair fuel economy at 31 miles per gallon in front wheel drive, and 29 MPG for the all-wheel drive variant,

Space for people and things: Comparable to other in its class the back offers about 26 ft. of cargo space in the rear.
